Captain's log
Happy Canada Day! Today was as close to perfect as it can get right now.
I'm not sure if there is a planetary alignment happening at the moment, but Number 2 and I managed to have the day alone together. This hasn't happened since March. Relic was working and the Dutchess was off at the beach so the Hubs and I enjoyed the day together.
I started the day with an Early morning fitness class in the park with @fitwellthornbury and then a hike with my co-captain. All that fitness definitely made my post-lunch snooze that much sweeter.
Is there anything more satisfying then a guilt free afternoon siesta?
While the crew was out of the house today I decided to perform a random cabin check. I’m very disappointed to report that my kids are slobs.
Not only did I manage to locate all the missing glasses and mugs, I also found a few ripe lunch containers. Gross.
I did however find some treasure while braving below deck, a reward for my unwavering courage and commitment to entering the biohazard zone that is my sons room. A bounty of missing socks were pulled from the depths beneath his bed. My wayward sock bin is alarmingly high at the moment and I’m optimistic that I’ve located most of the missing pairs.
It would appear however, I have let this ship go over the past few weeks and I’m going to have to put more effort into their training.
I will increase my nagging 10 fold starting tomorrow in an effort to boost compliance.
Despite the bad performance review I do love these warm summer nights together. Feeling blessed today.
